Varnalis has left a persistent and enduring legacy, not only in literature, but also in popular culture and music of Greece. A militant figure in the political fights of the twentieth century, the honesty, directness, and lucidity of his works has managed to transcend the political boundaries of his time. In this event, the Hellenic Professional Society of Texas will explore Varnalis' life and his poetic and prose works, so as to distill the eternal elements that bind him to Socrates and Aristophanes as well as to the arenas, cafes and bars of today.
