
Despite all the good intentions of the Greek government to stem the digital divide in Greece (including subsidized laptops for students, government transparency on the internet, funding for broadband), the results speak for themselves. Greece remains at the bottom among European countries when it comes to broadband (high speed internet) penetration.
Greece, with a 13.4% penetration rate, occupies the 23rd place among the 27 member states of the European Union.This comes in well below the EU average which stands at 22.9%
