USA Today interviews Nia about new movie

With over a year of press and excitment, audiences will finally be able to see Nia Vardalos' new movie, My Life in Ruins, which will be hitting the big screens on May 8th. Following her success with My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Nia Vardalos hit a few bumps along the road with the release of Connie and Carla. While she has no regret of partaking in that shooting, she is extremely thrilled to be able to have filmed her new movie in Greece.

Nia was allowed access to film on several ancient sites in Greece, which previously was banned by the Greek government. In short, Life in Ruins, is a romantic comedy about a tour guide whose life takes a personal detour, while her group gets entangled in comic situations among the ruins with a series of unexpected stops along the way

The film also will debut for the first time to foreign screens Greek actor, Alexis Gergoulis, who is quite popular in Greece. Nia partnered with Greek American pal Rita Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks in making this film.

DF: Looking forward to seeing it!
