Roasting and cutting the lamb on a cold Easter Sunday outside of Chicago. Easter was amongst the coldest ever recorded for many in the United States and Canada; but in several neighborhoods you still saw many braving the cold to prepare the Easter Lamb. Thanks to Marina Christos for sending her pictures in.

Peter... ...Who cares? Why even bother posting that?
Joanne... ...Nope. No lamb roasting. I have become a vegetarian.
Peter Z.... ...The Lamb roast took over 5 hours this year - thanks to the 35deg weather. The food and family make it all worth it!!!
Rebecca from Detroit... ...Yes, we too, roasted our lamb outside on the souvla. My husband put up our small canopy, taped plastic sheeting along three sides of it to keep out the wind, and enjoyed his ouzo and mezethakia for the next 5 or so hours. Like John Kass, we also had it seasoned and kept it in the garage since it was so cold. Christos Anesti everyone!
Ionikos... ...John Kass of the Chicago Tribune also had a funny and informative article on lamb roasting this past Sunday.
My family also roasted a lamb. We were able to prepare it the night before and due to the cold weather we were able to leave it in the garage for the next day without worrying about spoilage.
Megas... ...Unrelated to lamb roasting but there was a nice article in the Travel section of the Sunday NY Times on Thessaloniki. Thought you might want to know that its being called the Seattle of the Balkans.
