In the north of Greece along the border with Turkey, the Greek prefecture of Evros and theTurkish region of Edirne have agreed on a cross-border cooperation to deal with a pesky mosquito problem thatplagues the region.
Among the issues discussed so far was the possibility of aerial spraying over the rice paddieson the Turkish side, which are banned under EU legislation.
The two sides decided to hold regular bi-weekly meetings, during which they would analysethe results of cooperation against the mosquito problem and decide new joint actions.
DF: Mosquitoes. Another problem that doesn't recognize the border.
