Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias
Expands Reach of National Greeks for Obama Committee;
Karloutsos named Vice Chairman
CHICAGO, Illinois, February 5, 2008 – Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, National Chairman of Greeks for Obama Committee, announced that Michael Karloutsos has joined the Committee as Vice Chairman.
“I am thrilled with the level of support my extended family – the Greek American community – has provided to Senator Obama,” said Giannoulias. “Barack’s inspirational message of hope, opportunity, and of moving this country in a new direction transcends race, gender, age, and political party. That is what this country needs now more than ever: someone who will not only unite this country, but who will mend relations with other nations and re-affirm our position as a global leader, both economically and socially.”
“As most of you know,” Giannoulias continued, “Barack is not only a close, personal friend, but he is also my mentor. It is his political journey that has inspired me to run for public office. I am hoping that his improbable life's journey will inspire all of you to vote for and support his candidacy for President.”
Michael Karloutsos lives in Philadelphia with his wife Anastasia and two children. Michael’s political background includes working on Senator Olympia Snowe’s staff, playing a major role in the campaigns of Greek-Americans Paul Tsongas (for President) and Paul Vallas (for Governor) and being a Pioneer for President George W. Bush. “I am honored to join this team under the leadership of Treasurer Giannoulias and look forward to being part of a movement that transcends partisan politics and restores accountability in government and hope for America and the entire world,” said Karloutsos.
Treasurer Giannoulias was one of Senator Obama’s earliest supporters during his candidacy for the United States Senate, and has been in the forefront of the Obama presidential campaign, consistently surrogating for the Senator, fundraising for the campaign, and organizing field operations.
Senator Obama has been appreciative of Giannoulias’ efforts: “I’m proud to have Alexi’s support, and am inspired that his election proves that America is still a place where young Americans of any race or background can aspire to great things. He joins a proud tradition of Greek-American political leaders who’ve made important contributions to this country, and I hope to see more follow in your footsteps in the years to come.
Of course, these contributions go back even further and run deeper than any one political office. After all, it was the Greeks who our founding fathers turned to for guidance and inspiration as they crafted our Constitution and the architecture of our democracy. It was Thomas Jefferson himself who wrote: ‘[Greece was] the first of civilized nations [that] presented [an example] of what man should be.’
I stand before you today as someone seeking an office that is, in many ways, the product of your own proud tradition. And I do so with an unyielding faith that we can once again make this country a proud example of what all of humankind should be.”
Under Giannoulias’ leadership, the Greek American community has raised funds for the Obama campaign, has provided scores of volunteers to Obama headquarters in Chicago, and has sent field operatives to early primary states.
According to Giannoulias, “Senator Obama is an exemplary leader who has – as the Boston Globe proclaimed in its endorsement – ‘an intuitive sense of the wider world’. This intuition is what we need in the Oval Office. Moreover, if we count our friends as those who support our issues, Barack has been there for our community – on Cyprus, on the religions freedom of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, on FYROM. Most importantly, Barack has supported our community’s attempt to claim a full stake in the American political process by being the most prominent and vocal supporter of a Greek American’s candidacy for statewide office. I stand as the youngest statewide elected official in the United States today in large part because of the inspiration and support of Barack Obama.”

DeanMan... ...Check out the latest video from Greeks for Obama. It will lift your spirits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbpQn-gD0mI
DeanMan... ...Only an Obama victory can save us. There is no doubt that American economic power has sharply declined as direct result of Republican conservative economic policies rooted in ideology rather than reality or pragmatism. The irresponsible Republican tax cuts for the rich have led to ruinous deficits that have made our nation dependent on the Bank of China,
The Republican deregulation and weak supervision of the Mortgage industry has led to the disasterous subprime lending crisis which has nearly shattered our Banking system. During the eight years of Republican mis-governance job creation has been weak and wage growth for the middle class virtually non-existent. Millions of Americans have lost health care benefits and the health care sector as a whole is collapsing. The rising cost of college tuition has put higher education out of reach for a greater proportion of the middle class, curbing upward mobility. The US economy has also been harmed by increasing reliance of foreign oil, a dangerous adiction that can only be cured by switching to alternative energy and not by the false promise of drilling. Lastly, $10 BILLION a month that could have been sued rebuilding aging infrastructure in America and creating jobs has been carelessly squandered in Iraq, in an unneccesary and costly war based on lies.
GRFront... ...first and foremost I was a member of the RNC and have left because the Neo Con's have hijacked the party and until the party returns to their roots. I will personally be voting Libertarian.
That said. What is the difference by Obama taking billions of taxes from the rest of us and spending it on welfare programs ? to the Bush Administration taking Billions of tax revenues to bail out Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Bear Sterns? Whats the difference? It's still socialism isn't? We rewarding lazy on one side and incompetence on the other. I see no difference.
tsilionis... ...My friends. I know and understand that Obama is the choice of Europe and that includes Greece. That though does not mean anything to me and my family who live over hear.
To say greeks in this AWESOME country we all adopted support Obama is obsurd. I am active in the Greek Community and have in this election seen long time democrats and PASOK supporters prefer MCCAIN over OBAMA. I have to admit that most of these people are driven to this by color. In fact out of 80+ people who are in my circle only 1 family is voting OBAMA compared to almost 1/2 4 years ago voting for Kerry.
To me ( A LIFELONG DEMOCRAT recently turned REPUBLICAN) Obama is ONE BIG LIE. In otherwords he is a molded LIE the far left in this country created to run for President. He was and is the only BLACK person in America that has a chance to win and thus the opportunity at hand.
I personally think Greeks are prejudice in this country. I though am not one of them and would in a second vote for a Mike Steel or Condalisa Rice type as long as experience and competance is present.
What I do not support is the 100 Billion Dollar tax spending from taking money from us and giving it to Welfare programs. I do not believe in HIGH TAXES to feed the UNFORTUNATE.
GRFront... ...speaking of funding the nations lazy and irresponsible. So I will assume then that this would also apply to the Bush's adminstration bail out , oh wait I meant socialization of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Speaking of irresponsible and then using the tax payers to fund the failures of a bunch of incompetent CEO's/ I love backdoor socialism.
Jimbo33... ...Are you guys serious??? Greeks are supposed to have better sense than this. The majority of Greek Americans in my community are small business owners and hard working folks. Obama is the worst possible thing that could happen to our community. I dont want to be reaching into my pocket to fund the nations lazy and irresponsible, how about you? I would think that most greek americans would be immune to this Obama "invasion of the body snatchers" type mania. You dont represent me or any of the other greek in the Queens community that I have even spoken too.
Dropi Sas
GRFront... ...Dean man whats wrong with you man, not supporting a neo con like Bush who upholds true conservative values. Under his watch he has quadrupled the size of the federal government, pursued a wilsonian foreign policy that will see the end of the American empire. He has embraced free trade and open borders and has turned the US congress into a vassal of the Israeli parliament. George Washington would surely of been proud of the America First policy that Bush pursues. Not to mention that Bush preaches capitalism but practices socialism (please see the billion dollar bail out of Bear Stearns).
But not to worry the future is bright with the possiblity of a John "lets stay in Iraq for a hundred years" McCain, who also thinks that AL Qaeda is trained in Iran and just recently stated that the US should set up a missle defence system in Czechoslovakia. Excuse me? Czechoslovakia? either he is kidding or he is getting his current affairs lessons from the malakismeni Condi Rice.
Al... ...DeanMan, as you might expect, I disagree with you almost 100%. I do agree that the Iraqi war has not gone perfectly, but which war has? Heck, we still have troops in South Korea and various parts of Europe! As for the "intense criticism" of the size of the forces after major combat operations were completed, you act like these criticisms are from people who want us to win. These criticisms are mostly – not completely – from liberals who have a vested interest in our defeat. You can tell when you are talking to someone like this because they never use the words “victory”, “success”, “winning”, “beating the enemy”, etc. Nor do they talk about the progress in Iraq or some of the effects like Gadafi (sp?) giving up nukes or Iran trying to acquire them. So I would say that my comments are clearly aligned with the reality of people who want us to win. I’m not sure which side you are on, but I suspect you will obfuscate your position and continue to “blame Bush.”
Also, I am wondering where you got the idea that I think “that the Muslim world is a undifferentiated monolith with every single member of the Islamic faith completely radicalized and dedicated to violent jihad.” You are kind of pulling a star man on me. In this same paragraph, you mention winning “the support of the moderate Muslim majority” as a way to defeat the “radicals”. I don’t know if you have noticed, but the “moderate” elements of Islam have not come out much to condemn the various bombings, killings, beheadings, rapes, treatment of women, etc. Many people I talk to find it strange. Here is Pat Condell talking about response to that Fitna film. It puts a nice perspective on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxbYBIlT6VE
Then we have your argument about the weakness of our military because we are at the “breaking point.” You assert that the war is against “one billion members of the Islamic faith.” Where did you get this? More star man stuff I guess.
Ahh, what’s the difference at this point? Since we started “talking” here, more of the real Obama has come out with his 20 year relationship with Rev Wright, his seemingly anti-American-ness, more Socialist angles, ties to those criminals and ultra-liberal terrorists Bill Ayers and his acid-loving wife, Bernadine Dohrn, etc. From what I know, Greeks are usually law and order people. We also have a great entrepreneurial heritage in this country that is in direct opposition to Obama’s Socialist plans.
And while you talk about Orthodoxy, maybe take a look at the www.dailykos.com or the www.huffingtonpost.com for some idea on how Modern Liberals think about religion. They would do away with it if they could. Your buddy Obama may have joined a church, but if he wins, his talent pool is a bunch of Modern Liberals - many who are probably sympathetic to the notion of minimizing religion. As I think about it, Bill Maher, a huge Liberal and Democrat is coming out with a movie on 9/11 called “Religilous” – a combination of the words Religious and Ridiculous. This is the Modern Democratic Party. It’s terrible.
I urge Greeks to run as far from Obama as possible.
GRFront... ...I would like to believe that Bush is really against Islamic terrorism, but unfortunately his actions tell me otherwise. First you don't invade a socialist dictator(Saddam, Iraq) who feared Al Qaeda more than we do. Second don't give me the bull about fighting Islamic Terrorism when this administration and the previous one supported the Kosovo Liberation Army and now has annexed a part of Serbia and basically has handed it over to a bunch of Islamic Terrorists who some of them were trained by Al Qaeda. How concerned can the US be about Islamic terrorism in Europe when in the last two decades we have created two Muslim states in the Balkans. And money is pouring in from Saudi Arabia and Turkey funding everything from Mosques to terrorist groups. Please I guess we get to choose which Islamic terrorist groups are good (KLA) and which ones are bad (Hamas, Hezobollah).
Should we also talk about the plot to blow up Fort Dix (those that were arrested were all Kosovar Albanians & Turks. Yet that issue seemed to be glossed over in the media and Yet the Bush administration still supports those countries. Whats up with that ? Mr you are either with us or against us.
Turks were even caught fighting alongside the Taliban when Allied forces liberated Kabul. Yet other than the BBC News is was totally ignored here in the US. I am sure though if there was a Greek caught doing something like that, we would never hear the end of it.
Recently the Times of London and The American Conservative magazine published a story about a FBI whistle blower. Part of the story states that some of the 09/11 hijackers were trained in Turkey. http://www.amconmag.com/2008/2008_01_28/article1.html
If that story is true how come the Bush administration has not said or done anything about it? Your against Islamic Terrorism right? Not that I have much hope for the democrats either because they are full of bull also. The bottom line is the war on terror is bogus.
Now these same clowns that are now criticizing Greece over its so called treatment of refugees from the middle east etc. Were the same chorus of circus actors who prior to the Athens 2004 olympics were making a big stink about how Greece's borders are "porous" and vulnerable to terrorist attacks from groups from the middle east. and "Greece can't control its borders". on and on and on they went.
So Greece is damned if they do and damned if they don't.
DeanMan... ...Al - Your comments are, unfortunately, not aligned with reality, but reflect the rationalizations and dangerously misguided ideas of the extreme political right. Also your comments are in conflict with Orthodox Christian teachings on the morality of war, which stress that warfare is always evil, but sometimes neccesary, but in self-defense only. (see the writings of Father Stanley Harakas, Holy Cross Seminary).
First, in seeking to win the support of the American people Bush did not sell the Iraq War as a "long war", but as a quick coup-de-tat for the purpose of eliminating weapons of mass destruction and regime change. If Bush was planning for a long war, Donald Rumsefeld would have sent at least a hundre thousand more soldiers to help secure Iraq after Saddam had been deposed. The US did not have enough troops in Iraq which is why events quickly spun out of control. In fact, both Rumsfeld and General Tommy Franks had planned for a quick strike and a very short stay in Iraq and the small size of the US force they sent remains a subject of intense criticism today.
Secondly, your comments reflect the viewpoint that the Muslim world is a undifferentiated monolith with every single member of the Islamic faith completely radicalized and dedicated to violent jihad. This simply is not true. In fact the large nmajority of Muslims are moderate and while they detest the policies of the Bush admnistration, they do not hate the American people. The best way to defeat the radicals within Islam is to win the support of the moderate Muslim majority, The United States can do this by displaying a more even-handed approach towards the israel-Palestime conflict, reduce our military presence in the middle-east, and end our support for repressive, unpopular regimes.
Lastly, the US simply cannot afford the "long-war" against the one billion members of the Islamic faith that you and your war-mongering cohorts are promoting. The US volunteer army is near its breaking point. Gen. Richard A. Cody, the Army's vice chief of staff, recently told Congress that the US military does not have the resources to fight another war. Also, it's doubtful the US economy could pay the major increases in military spending to fight the WWIII you envision. The US has had to boorrow money from China to pay for the Iraq war. It's doubtful the US government could take on the debt for another major war without the economy collapsing completely.
Al... ...DeanMan, Obama should have looked at what Bush said years ago (after 9/11) about how long it was going to take before opening his mouth. He said this is like no war we have faced and that it will take years - a generation. Outside of Iraq, we still have troops in South Korea and Europe. How does Obama explain it? Does he even know?
This Modern Liberal argument about how long is it going to take is a strawman argument. We all know that it is going to take along time. When Bush said "Mission Accomplished", it was about MAJOR COMBAT operations. The Modern Liberals, of course, have twisted it into meaning that somehow Bush lied. But, they are wrong - again.
As a Greek, I would think that you would be thinking of the bigger picture. The bigger picture is Europe's native population growth has stalled and is negative in some places. At the same time, the Muslin population growing. Bush's plan to go into Iraq is to plant the seeds of Democracy (remember, who would have thought that Japan could turn?) so as to start to put pressure on Iran. Iran is the big problem. The Palestinian problem will never be solved until Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, etc. are dealt with.Jimmy Carter can do his "Habitat for Hamas" but the Militant Islamists keep saying they want to destroy Israel and take over the West. As they keep moving in this direction, it's pretty clear they really believe it and mean it.
So the war is about a much bigger picture and it is not a debacle as the Modern Liberals keep trying to make it be.
Both Obama and Hillary are like Carter - they'll just cave in because they don't know what else to do. And don't say we should talk to them, because we already are and we already have. None of these Militant Islamists seem to want peace. Heck, the "moderates" don't even condemn the real Militants! So neither Obama nor Hillary can have any success.
Just thinking about Obama's ideas about foreign policy, the heritage of Liberal foreign policy (Clinton and Carter come to mind), and all of the mess surrounding that Ayers guy and his nasty wife, I can't believe any thinking people would bother with Obama.
(Talking about foreign policy, look at what Clinton did to the Serbs. These Democrats could care less about the Greeks - Obama included.)
DeanMan... ...Al - The parallels between ancient Athen's ill-fated invasion of Syracuse and America's strategically disasterous decsion to invade Iraq are crystal clear. I'm sorry you didn't take the time to consider them more closely.
During last week's Congressional Hearings, Barack Obama asked General Petraeus to provide a definintion of a "victory" in Iraq that would enable US troops to leave and describe how such a victory could be realsitically acheivable. General Petraus was unable to answer the question, which is understandable because there is no way to "win" another country's civil war. None of the factons in Iraq is especially friendly to the United States, and the Shiitte faction of Prime Minister Al-Maliki is actually much more friendly to Iran, than the US.
The war in Iraq continues to sap America''s economic strength and strain and weaken our military, No nation can maintain global power and hegemony when it's underlying economic strength is waning. That is what is happening to our nation right now, The dollar is plummeting in value, our maufacturing base continues to shrink, and alarming levels of public and private debt are beginning to threaten our national security.
Rebuilding the economic strength of the United States is the most important task facing our next President, not continuing this foolish, costly and unwinnable war.
Al... ...DeanMan, your long winded response didn't answer an important question: "DeanMan, how does pulling out of Iraq (meaning losing) help the world? Bush said after 9/11 that this was going to be struggle like no other and that it would take a long time (I think he said a generation.) " So DeanMan, how does forcing us to lose help the world????
You reverted to the same old tired Modern Liberal talking points.
Let's go back to Obama as that is the main subject of this whole entry.
I come back to that Obama would be terrible. He has surrounded himself with the same old America-hating left. See this: http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=YThjYTU1ZDBjNmQ2YzcwNzU1MmYwN2JiMWY0ZGI0NDA
His lack of knowledge about the US is astounding too. Then take all of the condescending talk from him lately. He really doesn't know much about middle America. We can see the influences of Rev Wright and Farrakhan - and they are not good.
He talks about bringing people together, but all we does is act like a Modern Liberal. For example, when talking about wealth, he goes right down Liberal Lane: trying to make rich people poorer rathe rthan helping poor people get richer. This is the same old Socialist attitude. It's wrong. I can't think of much that is good about Obama and Greeks would be nuts to vote for him. Read the article at the link I included above.
DeanMan... ...Al - As a Greek you should be familiar with Thucydides, the author of the Peloponnesian wars.. His account of the Athenian campaign against Syracuse provides a sobering lesson for hubris-filled Americans today. It teaches us that staying in a no-win situation too long can be disastrous.
The Athenians were convinced that they could bring about regime change in Syracuse, throw out the Sparta-loving Oligarchs and replace them with Athens-loving Democrats.
But their timid leader Niceas failed to execute a quick strike and soon the Athenians lost the initiative and became bogged down in trench warfare, trapped in the malarial swamplands outside Syracuse. Sparta exploited the stalemate to send military advisers to stiffen the Syracusan defense. Every day the Syracusans became stronger and the Athenians weaker.
The Athenian's "coalition of the willing" dwindled as one Greco-Italian city-state after another pulled out and decided to sit on the sidelines. The Athenians generals sent word back home that victory was no longer within reach and asked to come home.
The Athenian assembly refused to accept the reality of the situation. Like today, those who argued that the war against Syracuse was lost were belittled and ridiculed as unpatriotic "defeato-crats" Instead they decided that what the Syracusan campaign needed was a "surge", Tens of thousands of additional Athenians soldiers were sent to Sicily to bolster the initial force.
But the facts on the ground were unchanged. Two Athenian attempts to break out, by sea and by land, were defeated. At last the Athenians attempted one last retreat, literally running across open ground for their very lives, while the Syracusans pursued them killing them and taking prisoners. Thos Athenians who were no killed spent the rest of their lives as slaves in the stone quarries.
Like Athens, America launched an ill-advised invasion of Iraq based on false expectations. Athens failed to exploit their early initiative, America failed to secure the peace in Iraq. Athens lost its allies, so has America. The Sicilian campaign drained the treasury and the spirit of Athens to such an extent that it never recovered. The cost of the war in Iraq in now between $1 and $3 trillion in actual and accrued costs, three trillion dollars that can now not be spent here at home improving the quality of life of Americans or invested in the American economy. Every penny that we have spent on the Iraq war has been borrowed from China and has to be paid back bu our children with interest.
Al... ...DeanMan, how does pulling out of Iraq (meaning losing) help the world? Bush said after 9/11 that this was going to be struggle like no other and that it would take a long time (I think he said a generation.)
While the Modern Liberals compartmentalize Iraq from other issues in the world, Bush’s ideas to deal with Mideast are audacious. Iraq was never about WMD. It’s about helping a new Democracy start in an area dominated by dictators who support Militant Islam. These issues drive the Palestinian issue and some of Europe’s problems. The issues that Europe is facing are limiting its ability to respond to Militant Islam at home and the Mideast. The big plan is to slow down Militant Islam so Europe can exist. (Think about Europe’s predicament: shrinking native populations, relentless competition from the US, China, etc., growing Islamic influences, a re-birthed Soviet Union with the wrench on the energy spigot, etc. Read up on their population decline. They have big problems.) The Modern Liberals cannot and will not see this and Bush doesn’t talk about it, but the strategy is to help save Europe for awhile too. Your simplistic “Support the troops, bring them home” attitude is simply wrong. Look what happened in Vietnam. We left. They begged us for aid. The Democrats in Congress (and the media) ignored it and millions of people died as a result. Read up on Pol Pot. What we are dealing with here is worse than the consequences of Vietnam. But Modern Liberals want us to lose in Iraq like they pushed us to lose in Vietnam. What a strange philosophy.
You call the soldier’s brave, but yet you essentially spit on them by saying to bring them home. They want to do their job.
As for the economy, it’s nowhere near as bad as people say. 5.5% unemployment is basically full employment. Here’s a good political cartoon on it: http://www.redplanetcartoons.com/index.php/2008/04/08/hoping-for-recession/
No one can guarantee that there won’t be recessions, but look how well he did coming out of the Internet bubble, 9/11, etc. Our economy is very dynamic.
As for Obama creating jobs, never confuse the government with creating wealth. It doesn’t work like that. This is Socialism and we all know what people do with Socialism – they try to escape it.
You complain about healthcare, the banking system, etc, but you are supporting people whose guiding principle is to raise tax rates on people. I can’t think of any country who taxed their way into prosperity. On the other hand, lower taxes and general freedoms related to Democratic Capitalism are the surest ways to help people gain wealth. The government is a drain.
Obama is a phony. He’s guided by Modern Liberal/Socialists and one of his big mentors is a racist. And he says he is going to bring people together? It’s a big joke. He would load up the government with Liberals. What is happening in Cook County, Illinois, the State of Illinois and all of the other places infested with liberals will happen at the Federal level. Watch that video “How Modern Liberals Think” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c . It really explains how they think and you will start to see the patterns in many aspects of political discourse.
DeanMan... ...I would be happy and relieved for the opportunity to vote for Barack Obama.
He would withdraw our troops from Iraq, saving the US taxpayers $3 billion dollars a week, and bringing home the many brave young soldiers whose lives are being carelessly thrown away in this futile conflict.
Obama would instead invest money, not in war, but in rebuilding America's aging infrastructure (creating new jobs in the process), increasing access to college education and provding every American with access to health care.
The fact that the United States spends twice as much, per person on health care as Europe, yet has 46 million people uninsured and millions more under-insured, is a national disgrace.
is America better off after 8 years of right wing Rebublican rule than it was in 2000? The wages of middle class Americans have stagnated, the nation has slid into recession, and we have added 4 trillion dollars in new debt for our children to pay off. Consumer confidence is at its lowest point since the Great Depression, the health care system is collapsing and Banking system is in crisis. Inflation and food shortages loom.
Considering all that, anyone who bases their voting decison on the false rumor that one of the candidates might be a Muslim then you truly is an idiot.
DeanMan... ...Obama is not a Muslim asnd never has been. When you repeat deliberate misinformation like this you are showing yourself to be either a liar of a gullible fool.
Decisions need to be based on fact, not fairy-tales or folklore. It is blind belief in fairy-tale and folklore that has brought America to the low-point it finds itself now, its economy collapsing, its infrastructure crumbling, it's military stretched to the breaking point trapped in a futile and costly quagmire in Iraq.
omega 1... ...dear fellow, american"s ana D:fellow greeks.....

Al... ...Obama is not good. He is as about as far left as he can be - which amongst other things, that his inner crowd is the antithesis of religious peoples. Go look at what is said every day in the comments on the www.dailykos.com website or at the www.huffingtonpost.com about Christianity.
He may sound good, but his voting record and his background is not good for the Untied States. The more I learn about him, the more I know he will not support policies that advance the country forward.
I know that many Greeks are looking for someone to support as a group, but I don't see how a leftist helps our cause! In general, people look to escape Modern Liberalism/Socialist/Leftists. That's why politicians don't use those words; they have to make up words like "Progressive" in order to hide their true beliefs.
Obama is another Carter. Militant Islam is growing rapidly and we're watching Europe's slow death. A Modern Liberal who will not stand up to things is not in our country's best interests. I'm not a big McCain fan, but I will not vote for any Modern Liberal Democrats.
(If you want to learn about Modern Liberals, watch this video by a guy named Evan Sayet called "How Modern Liberals Think". You'll need some quiet time and it is very good. Obama may be able to hide some of this, but many of his supporters fit this description to a tee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c
